Emma Roberts dating actor Cody John after Garrett Hedlund split
Emma Roberts has been reportedly dating actor Cody John for a few months.
The “Scream Queens” actress, 31, and John, 32, met through mutual friends, according to E! News.
“Emma loves Cody’s personality,” a source told the outlet. “He’s really funny and they have been having a good time together.”
Although the Roberts is smitten with her new beau, the pair are “taking it slow” for the sake of Roberts’ 21-month-old son, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Garrett Hedlund.
“Emma is cautious about bringing her son around new people,” the insider continued, “but knows the day will come soon.”
Romance rumors started swirling in August when John, 32, posted a black-and-white photo of the pair kissing to his Instagram.
In the snap, Roberts rocked a paisley bikini as the pair packed on the PDA while lounging on a luxury yacht. In another picture, the “American Horror Story” star goofed off while the two went out to dinner with friends.
“Sweet sweet,” the “In the Dark” actor captioned the series of snaps.
News of Roberts’ new romance comes less than a year after she called it quits with Hedlund after three years together.
The former couple started dating in March 2019 and announced they were expecting their first child just over a year later.
Roberts shared the first glimpse of their son, Rhodes, in January 2021 just days after she gave birth to their “bright light.”
Since their split, Roberts and Hedlund have maintained an amicable relationship while co-parenting Rhodes.
The “Tron” actor recently shared a rare photo with the 1-year-old while the pair spent some quality time together at Bass Pro Shops.
Just a couple months earlier, Hedlund penned a sweet, hand-written message to Roberts on Mother’s Day.
“To the most beautiful mother, dear Emma!,” the 38-year-old wrote in the note shared to Instagram. “You gave us a gift who never ceases to melt our hearts, amaze our minds, and make all the anythings just fly away, from morning till night.”
Roberts previously dated Evan Peters on and off for seven years before they broke up for good in 2019.
